Abstract (in inglese)
The essay examines the way to carry out the parliamentary mandate in the light of the transformations undergone by parliamentary activity in the evolution of the form of government, trying to highlight how such transformations are affecting the specific functions of political representation. It is noted, in particular, that there is an insufficiency of the regulatory reforms approved in order to re-legitimize representation since the crisis of the latter entails the crisis of political parties as bodies called to organize consensus and mediate the relationship between voters and elected representatives. Finally, the essay takes into consideration the possible growing value given to the prerogatives of the single parliamentarian as a factor of relaunching (not exclusive but essential) of the intermediary function of the parties.
